ADA Accreditation
Glen Dental Care Achieves ADA Accreditation
At Glen Dental Care we are committed to continuously improving the quality of our dental services and operational practices. As a demonstration of our commitment to quality and safety, back in May 2017 we registered to seek practice accreditation with the Australian Dental Association {ADA}. We then journeyed over several months to examine our practices more closely as well as document and audit our practices to uncover ways that we can improve. As a result of the hard work put in by our team at Glen Dental Care, we are happy to announce that we formally attained ADA accreditation on 14 December 2017.
What is ADA Accreditation?
There are many regulations and guidelines that govern the dental profession. These are put in place by regulating agencies for the protection of patients and to ensure that services are delivered with a high standard of care. The ADA takes on a leadership role to assist professional dental practitioners and clinic operators to abide by these guidelines. Some examples include lobbying efforts, writing up patient information and the development of tools for practitioners. One of the tools provided by the ADA is an accreditation process for a dental practice that spells out a clearly defined set of standards and a way of measuring compliance with the many regulations and guidelines that govern the dental profession. In addition, the accreditation system helps dental practices to in-build processes and documentation to systematically and continually improve their clinic operations.
What Does Accreditation Mean to You?
With the ADA accreditation you can expect the following from us:
- We welcome your feedback – good or bad
- Your healthcare rights are protected and you are shown respect
- You will be involved in decision making
- We have a reliable team to look after all aspects of dental care
- Your privacy is protected
- We will be an active information provider
- We will strive to continually improve our quality
Sharing the Achievement
Our patients have played an instrumental role towards our achievement of ADA accreditation in so many ways. For instance, by providing our practitioners with comprehensive information when they fill out patient forms, by giving us feedback on what we do well and how we can improve and by being involved in decision making that affects individual healthcare. For this we’d like to say a big thank you.
